There are a lot of web-based email service providers that you can use, but using an email with your own domain name will grant you more credibility if you have a business, for instance, not to mention that with web-based email services there are limits on the maximum size of the attachments that you can receive or send. If you use an email service that offers support for the IMAP and POP3 email protocols, you won’t bump into such problems and you’ll be able to use any software program on your PC to access your mails, including Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird. You can even set up a mailbox on your mobile device. The difference between the two email protocols is that with IMAP, an email message is displayed at your end, but remains on the email server, while with POP3, the message is downloaded onto your computer, unless you configure the program in such a way as to save a copy on the server.
POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Website Hosting
You will be able to use any email client software and any mobile or desktop device to view your email messages if you opt for one of our Linux website hosting packages. Our email servers offer support for both email protocols (IMAP and POP3), so you can select the one that suits your requirements – you can download all emails to your personal computer or you can leave the messages on the email server if you’ve got a firm and different people need to access them, for instance. You can even download a configuration file for a certain email account for any of the three most widely used desktop email clients – Thunderbird, Apple Mail and Outlook. You’ll only need to run the file on your computer and that email account will be set up automatically. If you would rather use your smartphone, we’ve added in-depth tutorials on how to configure an email account on an iOS- or an Android-driven device.
POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting
You can select between the IMAP and the POP3 email protocols if you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. We offer support for both, so you can choose what to do with your messages – to download them onto your home computer or to leave them on the mail server and to check them from different devices. The latter option will also permit multiple people to use the same mailbox – in case you’re hosting a corporate site on our servers, for instance. You can find auto-config files in the Email Manager section of our Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which will permit you to set up everything automatically in a program of your choice – Thunderbird, Outlook or Apple Mail, so you will not need to tweak anything manually. In case you’ve got a smartphone, you can set up any email account just as easily – simply check our comprehensive tutorials for Android and iPhone. To make everything even easier, the instructional articles contain step-by-step screenshots.
